 Born in Europe

Five museums in five European cities visited immigrant families who had just had a child. The visits took place in 2002 - 2003.  Here are families from Bosnia and Brazil, from Iraq and Iran, from Turkey, China and Somalia, from Palestine, the USA and Greenland – and from even more countries all over the world. Each family has its own story, its own hopes for the future. In all their differences a hope shines through, carried by good wishes for their child’s future and by a will to act in a complex and conflict ridden world.

The five cities are Berlin, Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Lisbon and Århus – and the five museums that have co-operated on this project are Museum Neukölln, the National Museum of World Culture, EPAL Water Museum, the Danish National Museum and the Women’s Museum in Denmark.

The book is edited by the Women’s Museum and has been published in Danish, Swedish, German, English and Portuguese. 185 pages.
Price: 80.00 kr.
